Hoping to get it on my Nexus 9 soon! it's still stuck on Android 5.0.1
Google this is bad 1st you didn't give android 5.0 to android one devices.. Then you launched the same type of devices in two other market with android 5.1 .. Then you say the android one phone would be the 1st to get android 5.1.. And then you pm says the roll of the update has began (which no one has received). This is cheating man.. Never expected this from Google
android one phones are dual sim phones..google needed to update the os to support dual sim OOTB....what they are doing with android one is right..i dont think it is cheating
Android lollipop soak test started for 'moto e' in February first week in India and now its march midway. Till now the work is in progress. For other Motorola mobiles(moto g, google nexus 6 and soon on). Update come much time before. But still no update for moto e. This is quiet disappointing thing about google and Motorola. This is the first time I felt Motorola update services are really too slow.
I hope too get it on my Nexus 6 from T-Mobile
Yes, yes we will enjoy these tasty additions, thank you.
Does this mean Lollipop is finally stable?
Finally stable but on nexus 7 (2012) haha
Oh, I know that name! Thanks for AP
cue the my device hasn't received it complaints, in 5, 4, 3, ...
"in 5, 4, 3, ..." months? Because I waited 7 weeks for Lollipop to hit my N5 before ultimately installing it myself.
Quiero saber si la actualización de Android lollipop saldrá ligero para el Moto E primera generación ?
Si, pero primero debe llegar al Moto X y Moto G de 2013... Deberás esperar unos cuantos mese más... Probablemente tarde menos que al S4
Fantastic! Still on 4.4.4 though.
Boost mobile told me in december that the Lg volt would get the update. But still waiting.
Your best off there mate 4.4.4 is way way more stable than lollipop is, don't bolt the gate yet there is no real reason to update from 4.4.4 unless you have a N9 or N6
Droid Turbo will never get Lollipop
Droid Turbo and MOTO X 1st gen. we´re in the same boat Bro!
Verizon is crap... still stuck on 4.4.4 on my Moto G :/ I won't ever see this great update.......
unlock your bootloader, install GPe, profit.
Unlock, root and install CM12? It's extremely stable now and only takes around half an hour at most. I think it supports CDMA too not.
Tell me how can i get lollipop on Verizon MotoX...?
Where do I find GPe for Moto G XT1032? There is such thing?
I am still stuck on 4.4.2 with my Galaxy S4 on Verizon. :(
im on my t-mobile Galaxy S2 and i love loliopo im only on 5.0.2 but its still great :)
@Brandon Love, update all your Motorola inbuilt apps from Play Store > My Apps option. You will get Android Lollipop update notification.
Still waiting my 5.0 on Zenfone 5
that has nothing to do with Google
Still waiting 5.0 on Moto X 1st gen.
Update all your Motorola inbuilt apps from Play Store > My Apps option. You will get Android Lollipop update notification.
Are you f###ing telling me while android gets more lollipop updates. The KitKat people are left behind with the SD card R/W bull$###
This feels like a smack in the face.I wouldn't be complaining if I could root the z667t zte
Probably because 99.999999 percent of the people on earth don't know what that is so they don't bother to care.
Buy Nexus :)
That's not Google's fault.
Nexus phone too goodJust buy a google phone and relax
It's over, and fixed.
No its not. My Nexus 5 still has a memory leak even on 5.0.1. I did a factory reset and installed Nova Launcher on top which has helped to some degree, but the issue remains. On a side note, I'd like to know if the Device Protection feature will be coming to the Nexus 5 as a part of Android 5.1?
5.0.1 is not 5.1
Actually, 5.0.2 on my Moto X (2014) installed vía OTA, no side load required to receive the upgrade from 4.4.4, no memory leak issues, also the performance improvement is a delicious thing. Battery life improved as a top, all day on a medium-hight daily usage scenario, So considering the 2300mAh and 420+ PPI on a 5.2" screen on Moto X, it's a solid demonstration about what is coming inside Lollipop.5.0.1 on my T-Mobile Nexus 4, a little improved battery life but a really good performance improvement thanks to lollipop..Android is an exaggerated ambitious project, because is trying to fit in any mobile hardware in the world, that is major challenge and in my opinion it has been doing extremely well.. So, my advice is to be patience and be a little conscious that the carriers runs a fundamental show stopper when it comes to OTA updates, is not convenient for the carriers to update the phones when they can sell you a new one..
Just flashed the update, and guess what's still missing: SILENT MODE.
Lower the volume all the way, and press "none" on top and your phone wont even vibrate
And the alarm clock won't work this way. Not acceptable! No notification LED either. How can Google think that this was a good idea??
It's called Priority Mode: no sound or vibrations from calls, texts or other notification except from those contacts and apps you specify as "Priority". Priority Mode has the added benefit of labeling alarms as "priority" by default, so your alarms will come through and you can still wake up on time. I have used it every night since my Moto X 2014 received the update and it has worked perfectly.
S5 in turkey and i still didnt get the lollipop update !!
that has nothing to do with Google, talk to Samsung
how can i update android L on note 4.it still remain on 4.4 kitkat.
S4's still in 4.4.2. Lollipop update is nowhere to be found! Still waiting.
Android 5.0.2 is available for GT-i9500, GT-i9502, GT-i9505, GT-i9506, GT-i9508 and som American models. You can check if it's available for tour model on sammobile :)
Is it available on morroco ?
For nexus and Moto X the answer is yes. Other way just flash CM12 it's great very smooth and stable.
when have 5.0 for SHV-e300? still waiting so long
This comment has been removed by the author.
best copy-paste ever, dave.
Great! Maybe I'll get this update sometime next year or so. Still stuck on 4.4.2 on my Galaxy S4
El Woo Hoo! Lookin to get it on my Nexus 6.Will it get pushed out thru the Play Store and not via my carrier (Verizon)?
Ohh godess of noobs.
And if you're on a stock Nexus, be prepared to wait for months. Google's staged rollouts are the best reason to root and rom these days.
I've already received 5.0.1 on my N4.If only I could get it on my 1+1.
not true. once the updates start, expect everyone to get it within 3 weeks
What about tablets like the Samsung galaxy?
I really hope that it will fix camera/flashlight bug on Nexus 6
Yes... if I EVER get lollipop on my S4... before I need to use a stick to walk maybe? Sick of waiting really! !!!
Tell it to Samsung
When and where?!!
hopefully sometime this week if nothing goes wrong
i'm hoping for better battery life, Wifi/Bluetooth fixes/improvements, performance fixes and overall system fixes oh ya i almost forgot SILENT MODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as i hate when it vibrates in my pocket at work as i'm not supposed to pull out my phone while at work
Turn the phone off....silent as can.be !!!!!
Try lowering the volume and pressing "none"
Priority Mode. No interruptions(sound/vibrations) for any calls or texts except from the contacts you specify.
Para cuando esta actualización?
When will we see the factory images posted to https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images ?
time to wait and see as it took them a month just to confirm it existsbut i would assume it may take a few days to get everything finished up and uploaded to ASOP then to upload the factory images
Checked this morning and nexus 5, nexus 10 and nexus 7 images were up on the site
It says that it will be available for devices shipped with android 5.1. How aboit other devices like for example the One m9 which will be shipped with 5.0?
It depends on how fast htc manage to adapt their software to the 5.1 update, and then start the rollout to their supported devices.
Cool, I am waiting for the update for my nexus 5.
What about my Lenovo S898t+?
As long as I don't have complete control of my MICRO SD card, I won't be updating any time soon. Must I root the thing to have control of MY phone?
That's pretty much the deal. Root = control
Silent mode is HIGHLY needed also!!! Pleeeeeeeese!!!!
so, no device protection for nexus 4 and nexus 5 ?
Nexus 7 2013 better get this!!
i want lollipop
I can't get this update for my Nexus 5 fast enough. Love Lollipop but the initial release... was well.. not good. Battery draining, phone slowing down horribly and what not.
could not have said it better myselfcan't believe they finally confirmed that android 5.1 existed and is close to being released
Will this be coming to the Nexus 10?
Easy answer is ya the images are up on the site but regarding performance I can't say how well it will do
Oh please let there be silent mode!
Does this fix the horrendous battery life issues on the nexus 5 phones?
So is HD Voice = Wifi calling for Tmobile??
HD Voice is =VoLTE. There is no wifi calling.
Hope this comes to me and my wife's Nexus 4 we bought on the Google Play Store. It's like getting a new device each time we get a new update we enjoy it. :-)
Will the Galaxy S4 GPe see this update or am I stuck on 5.0 with a overpriced gadget?
Will this roll out to the galaxy mega2 from att
that would depend on what Samsung decides not google if only google took a similar route like apple where they push it out at the same time for a set of devices like say maybe two phones and a tablet at a time
That will never happen because android is free so u have 200 different mfgs selling the same is unlike grapple !
True but it would be a whole lot easier if it were possible But I guess it's better this wsy
Waiting for Nexus 5 factory images
Same here hopefully they fix the wifi issues as well as the horrible battery life
Wifi calling with T-Mobile?
After use lollipo 5.1 from android one Indonesia (mito impact a10)-bad battery life only stand 3 hours or 4 hours.-Bad detect signal not strong.-many force close apk switch sim, foto, settings, email, hangouts, etc.-bad flash camera stock rom really bad-not move apk to sdcard -bug brightness shit lollipop 5.1 !!!!!
What about silent mode?
Not use silent mode for lollipop 5.1
Google cheated us saying free updates for android one. :-(
Any Nexus 6 owners in the UK seen this update yet? No sign of it on mine so far.
Nice post. Thank you for sharing valuable information on this subject matter.---------Signaturehttp://619.be/Subscribersecrets
When can we expect an update from Google for Andriod one users - India.By listening to Sundar Pichai's statement, many Indian's has purchased Android one mobiles in India; including me.No updates so far... Additionally, left a message to Sundar Pichai in Twitter to check whether he can help me and Indian users.Till date no update.... All we could see its coming from many months and not launched the OTA for any of the Android one mobiles.
Will we get a non-broken silent mode in this release?
Nexus 5 5.1 factory image is now on AOSP: https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/hammerhead-lmy47d-factory-6c1ad81e.tgz
Why when apple rolls out any update to its devices, all users get immediately. But when android rolls out any update, why Nexus devices doesn't receive immediately? Why it rolls out in phases?
That depends on the carriers and the companies
Abdriod is free and open...apple is one phone
Have you ever noticed the update process just after Apple released a new update?! You wait... and wait... The servers usually crash under the pressure of thousands of devices updating at the same time! So I think it's better for server stability. And always remember that there are factory images... (I hope I understood your question in the rightway... 😮)
Does anybody know when the 2013 Moto X will receive the Lollipop update? The Motorola blog only states that it will get the update at some point.
The Android 5.0.x wrecked the Nexus 7 (2012)... Will the 5.1 un-wreck it ? I don't have any high hopes here
When will droid turbos see this update?
Até que enfim...
Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi please...
Afghanistan Galaxy Note 3 olz
Anyone know when my Zune will get it?
Great additions and enhancementsWish I had a nexus ._.
will the motorola moto devices get the android 5.1 update?especially Moto G,Moto E & Moto X..Currently we are on 5.0.2 in our motorola devices. Is the source code of android 5.1 released?
I would like to know how to install Myanmar Keyboard and Zawgyi Font in Lollipop as KK 4.4.3.Thanks.
Still haven't got Lollipop for Android One update. What does the term 'guaranteed update' mean?
will the xolo one Q610s devices get the android 5.1 update?..Currently we are on 5.0. in our xolo one Q610sdevices.Is the source code of android 5.1 released?
DON'T DO IT!!!!!! The update will kill your phone or make you wanna kill it. I went into the VZW store to get some help with it and all i said was "LOLLIPOP". The rep said, "OOOOH, ya about that. We've had a ton of complaints and be patient, a new update should come out to fix lollipop". So i now have a screen freezing, sms non receiving, laggy, stumbling, battery pulling PAPER WEIGHT in my pocket now. Thanks GOOGLE THAT WAS BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh ya VZW Galaxy S5
Blame your TW, i've got no lagging problem neither on my g2 nor nexus 6
My Verizon HTC M8 is still stuck on 4.4Sux big time
When will release 5.1 lollipop for moto g2 Xt1068 in India?
When are you gonna release android 5.1 for Spice mi-526?
If your pathetic servers cant handle the ota update for android one devices in india, release the factory images. most users are intelligent enough to do the rest of the work by themselves! epic fail for Mr. Sundar Pichai! A word of advice...dont piss Indian customers, they can really rui your market share!
very nice for htc me txhttp://padmiracargo.comhttp://zoomtech.irhttp://inten.asia
samsung device not recieve a lollipop update
android 5.0 for android one devices not received in India. 1st you didn't give .. Then you launched android 5.1 . This is bad promise from google.
Nexus 4 supports Android 5.1??
Still no update for android one devices in India. Will you guys EVER tell release the update ?
I've been waiting for the Lollipop update on my Motorola Moto G 4G since december and i still haven't received it. It's the last time that i will buy a Motorola phone again.
Since we obviously aren't getting silent mode back any time soon (sad times), have a look at this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pcIt has a toggle for volume control which allows you to force silent mode. (No sound/vibration but alarm still works)
Anyone tell me when I'm exactly going to get the lollipop 5.1 update on my android one device, Google said that android one would get the update first but i don't think so.
Hope this will fix the problem with my N4 shutting down and booting again for no reason
I hope the same thing !
It's just annoying, isn't it?
Does it work on grand 2 ?
Haha !! Android one users already on 5.1 :D My Review of 5.1 after a week of testing * battery drains like hell ..*camera flash bug .. But third party camera fixes it .* Apps can be moved to SD *Major changes to quick setting toggles ..that's really cool
Is Basque available as system language with this update?
That will be nice. But still the Android one phone of Micromax is on Kitkat didn't get the Lollipop. May be we will get this update when you release M.
Even more fragmentation. Thanks, Google!!!
I have 2 models of huawei one model y300,with 4.1.1 and other y530 with 4.3,where found news version for my phones??????Please help Me . Chris R.
In 5.0.2, the Dialer takes too long to load and speed dial has no speed.
Where is any documentation on the Device Protection? In a workplace, even using Google Apps, we already have a very difficult time with employees using company iPhones being fired and returning their phones unintentionally locked to a personal iCloud/email account, and threatening them with monetary/legal action for the equipment they rendered unusable.I really don't eagerly look forward to that hassle with administering the Android phones we use, which we have far more of for that reason. Yet rather than documentation, all that we can find is vague news that it's being "rolled out", with no details on how the function works, or how a workplace IT department can override it as needed, if the person should, unauthorized, tie it to a personal google account rather than their corporate Google Apps account. Documentation anywhere??
What about HD voice on Nexus 5 hardware? Will that ever be possible?
Any chance we get a Material Dark scheme to get rid of all those white backgrounds that are killing AMOLED screens and batteries??
Dear Google, this is to inform you that your Lollipop 5.0 SUCKS! It is seriously gliche. It turned off ALL my notifications which I finally hunted down to turn them all on. And even after that my facebook, shealth, google+ and more do not show up at the top of my SamsungS5. You have sent communications back 300 years. This is just a little better then my old flip phone was that didn't get internet. You've gotten your tiny little fingers into all my perfectly set up features the way I liked them. Give me back what worked. You have now made my life much harder to keep in touch with what was important to me. You've moved my cheese Google, and this Mouse is NOT HAPPY! Give me back what I had that worked!
Has anyone installed 5.1 to confirm changes compared to 5.0
I couldn't care less about the new features, the main reason to download the update is to get rid of the terrible memory leak that caused months of app crashes, OS slowness, unresponsiveness, lost content and progress, frustration. I'm still surprised it took Google so long to take care of it. Hopefully it will also improve Nexus 5's battery life.
Same here Maceiej Baron if 5.1 won't fix the issues then back to kitkat I go on my nexus 5
I'm also running Nexus 5 and having the same issues since downloading 5.0.1 at the beginning of December. I don't want any new features, just want the bugs fixed. 4 months with severe bugs, that's unacceptable.
Lollipop 5 SUCKS! It has rendered my Nexus 7 (2012) unusable. I will wait 4 more weeks and then if the problems are not resolved, I will be changing every device my family owns over to iProducts. iPads specifically, and will never return to Android. I had everything important in my life on my Nexus, and now if it even boots it freezes while running apps.4 weeks Android. If I have to change over all our devices I will do everything in my power to persuade others I know to do the same. Sure I am only one person, but word of mouth is the best advertising there is and I will be very, very derogatory toward Android. 4 weeks Android. Are you listening?
post factory images of Android 5.1 for nexus 7 2013 waiting since mng :)
Dear Google, have you fixed up the Freak cypher breach with Android 5.1 ? THX Googlers
OMG i am so excited about this. Just have a question, when you say multiple slim slots, it applies to new dual SIM Nexus devices right?
no, it is because of the Android One devices, that has dual SIM support.
Being an Android One user, I feel betrayed by Google. One of the main reasons for buying my Canvas A1 was the promise of quick updates. I used to brag to friends about the then upcoming Lollipop update. All I can do now is hang my head and pretend not to see or hear when they start showing off their phones which have already received the Lollipop update.I can understand that the update may have been delayed due to various bugs that may have cropped up due to my phones limited hardware. But what hurts here is the fact that we are being continuously kept in the dark and treated as if we don't matter at all. The first, the last and the only information we received was a tweet back in February saying that we'll receive the update in the next few weeks. I realize now that if 6 weeks can be a few weeks, then so can 10 weeks or 15 weeks. So I shouldn't be surprised if I receive the update even in the month of May, by which time probably the developer preview of Android M could be released.Dear Google, I now talk directly to you. Why make promises that you can't keep? Or why keep us in the dark and treat us like we don't matter to you at all? If you are not interested in the budget market, why do you have to enter it in the first place? Its not as if we had no choice. We were doing fine without you, if not great. Then you come to us showing dreams of great phones and just when we are taken up by the dreams, you shatter those dreams. Why do you act like grown ups who tell little children stories about Santa Claus and make the children get their hopes up about presents, and on Christmas day, inform the children that Santa is just a myth? The children will be fine if they are told the truth by itself. What hurts is the fact that the people they trusted lied to them. The same is happening here, Google. You have made me lose my TRUST in you and it hurts a lot...
Too late! Apple has caught up with Android with more features! Imagine that! Lolipop notification and dialer sucks big time. Integrating everything with Google services sucks. I can't even browse my photos quickly from my Photos app. Bring back Gallery app!
Why Nexus 5?! Why Nexus 7 and 10?! Come on, Google, wake up! Nexus 6 is your latest device, so all of its versions - XT1100 and XT1103 should receive this update first! This is not fair for the two-year-old smartphone to be the first received 5.1!
Is Wi-Fi calling part of this release?
Why are the older Nexus devices getting it first? When will the Nexus 6 get it? Or at least a factory image posted??
