Thanks for all the hard work A-Team! Can't wait to run this on some mini Android PC devices. Also, a smaller memory footprint?!?! I thought every new release was big and badder requiring more storage and RAM?... Oh wait I'm thinking about the past 20yrs of living with M$!

Thanks again and we will be sure to enjoy this little treat, just in time for the Holidays.

When Android does actionable Lock Screen Notifications like iOS it will be perfect for me. Please put more effort into notifications, how and when they appear, from which app, banner vs large, etc.

Allow me to read and act upon a notification when I hear it come in, or ignore it - all without picking up the device or saying anything.

Up till Sept 28th, I was still using my old Nokia 6300. So when it died, I decided to join the smartphone bandwagon and bought a Nexus 4. I'm still trying to get a handle on jelly bean and now I have to get used to this new version?

Aiyo. I long for the good old days when people used carrier pigeons for long distances communications.

I think, it will only work if your language preference is set to English (US). Hope this is helpful. Cheers...VJ

It's very disappointing that KitKat won't be released on the Galaxy Nexus. Especially if the reason is a bloody publicity thing. We all know you have some new stuff coming out, but that shouldn't be at the expense of loyal Android users.

    So disappointing.

It seems the one word associated with Google, Android 4.4 & KitKat these last few days has been: "disappointment".
Another big hype, wait, waiting, upcoming weeks, for an updated operating system that changes icons from blue to white? Makes paying at Google easier. More of your personal data within Google's reach, and what else? Not a heck of a lot for all that commotion. For making android the #1 OS in the world, Google should have rewarded it's enablers with something special. Once again that is not the case.
    I call shenanigans!

Sucks I spent alot of money on an samsung s4 active one of the latest phones out right now and it looks like samsung is making no attempt what so ever to get 4.4 kitkat for my phone at all. I still cant get 4.3 jellybean not sure ill ever go for samsung again if they don’t plan on makeing updates available for there phone’s . No point on buying the latest phone if you cant upgrade to keep it one of the the latest ..htc has said that the htc one will have 4.4 kitkat available for Christmas. .

Any release date for 4.4 on the Nexus 4? Really thought it would have rolled out in real time, considering it is stock android. Hopefully we can get at least a date.

No, no date for Nexus 4 yet. The "official" word is ... "...in upcoming weeks".
How about that for a slap in the face to all those loyal Nexus investors. It has already been 2 weeks and not a word since the "upcoming weeks" remark from Google. I remember when they held their customers in high regard. Not anymore. In order for you to matter to Google now you have to purchase the latest model. Google has grown up now and has to be fed, and fed regularly. If you spent $300-$400. a year ago on a Google device and wonder if and when it will receive an update, their OFFICIAL RESPONSE IS: "IN THE UPCOMING WEEKS". You know like when you call the dealer you bought that new car from a year after the check clears. They don't have time for you, your not this weeks money, You're money already spent...
